Missing Curriculum

Resources for People with Complicated Childhoods

No one got everything they needed - when they needed it - as they were growing up. Childhood is a turbulent time. There is so much to learn, comprehend and understand. Our bodies were growing and changing, and physical growth can be very painful - from cutting teeth to femur lengthening.

The messages, ideas and beliefs that we internalized then often do not serve us now as adults. Habitual thought patterns can keep you stuck. Habitual behavior patterns can damage relationships.
Unexamined expectations can keep you unsatisfied, unhappy, feeling like a victim or hopeless.
None of this is necessary!
It’s not too late to have the benefits of a happy inner child, a full, loving and vibrant present, and a fulfilling and rewarding future.

MissingCurriculum.com is a resource for resolving life issues that prevent you from fully experiencing and living your life today.
Issues such as anxiety, depression, procrastination, addiction, and fear stop you from meeting your goals, having healthy relationships, and enjoying your successes.

Years ago I made the personal journey from patient to practioner, from dying to doctor… and on that journey I realized that there was much about life, and about living, about relationships and communication, about how I processed information through my thoughts, my body and my intuition – that I just didn’t know…. Or didn’t trust…

There is a body of knowledge that is not taught in our schools or in our religious institutions. If we were lucky our parents taught us some of these skills, but most of them could not pass on information that they didn’t have.

There are life skills you didn't learn growing up. Many of us were 'educated' out of valuing our intuition, listening to our bodies wisdom, and respecting our inner knowing.

I call this vital body of knowledge – the Missing Curriculum . The tools and skills you learn here do not address the question “What do I do?” We have had plenty of input on that… They address the question “How do I LIVE?”

So let me be more concrete –

The goals are -

to live a balanced life

with an open heart

in touch with your inner guidance

in congruence with your integrity

present in the moment

able to think clearly

respectful of self and other

couragously committed to your Inspiration

groundedly optimistic about the future

in gratitude

and open to the possibilities that Life presents.

One of the major things that I’ve learned from working with people over many years is that learning is experiential. “Learning about” is very different from ‘knowing’. When you truly ‘know’ something – you live from it. The Missing Curriculum facilitates knowing.

Recent neurobiological research confirms that if we pay attention in specific ways to specific experiences across time – we can actually change the structure of our brains! We can grow new dendrites, make new neural connections, increase the efficiency of our mental and emotional functioning – even into our 70’s and 80’s. We can repair the deficits from our past and quiet our fear of the future.

It’s really not too late to have the benefits of a happy inner child, a full, loving and vibrant present, and a fulfilling and rewarding future.
